About Michael
Michael A Gregory is a systems thinker, engineer, and builder who specializes in diagnosing why intelligent systems—and intelligent people—fail to execute.
He has worked for nearly twenty years as a Network Engineer and System Administrator for small companies and large, international enterprises. Michael has always worked in the technology fields, but his true passions are design and writing.
His work spans infrastructure engineering, governance design, automation, and decision systems, where he has spent years building frameworks that worked perfectly on paper and stalled quietly in practice. That tension became the focus of his work: not how to generate better ideas, but how to prevent good ideas from dying in refinement.
Rather than approaching execution as a motivation problem, Michael treats it as a systems failure caused by missing termination rules, misplaced authority, and incentives that reward thinking over movement. His writing reflects that perspective: precise, unsentimental, and designed to be used rather than admired.
EXECUTION 404 (A Root Cause Analysis) is not a departure from his work, but rather the result of finally applying it appropriately.
